2nd blog...
I just got back from braving this ridiculous weather to work out and weigh-in at Weight Watchers. I've lost 9 lbs. since last week's "Lighten Up" weigh-in. I weighed in at 310 today. I've done everything right this week. I started working out last night and just those two workouts have paid off in a big way. The problem is that this has happened before. I lose a ton of weight the 1st two weeks and then I get bored. This time is different. I'm sprinting now, but I'm ready to drop into a jog in a couple of weeks. I'm more determined and focused than I've ever been. I know, now, that it takes time to do these things and that there will be challenges along the way. I'm ready to face them and if I should fall, it will only be for a day, but I will get back on that horse. My health and happiness depend on it! See you next week....

Frank Angeloro's 1st Lighten Up blog
My wife, Courtney, and I went on a short vacation to Charlotte, NC last weekend and I was determined to start this thing on Wednesday, 1/15/14. I was back to work that day and I did a great job of eating and keeping track of my sugars and insulin intake (as I am diabetic). Then I woke up at about 2:00am with very low sugar, probably due to the fact that about a half hour later realizing that I had the flu. I had already missed work on Monday and Tuesday due to the vacation and now I missed Thursday and Friday due to illness. When I came for the 1st Lighten Up meeting and the weigh-in on Saturday, we had done some running around in the morning and I was still not 100%, so I felt like I was going to pass out the entire time that I was standing there.
Finally today, Monday 1/20, I have my health back and I'm ready to get rolling.
To make a long story short, I had gastric bypass surgery in February of 2003 and lost close to 90 lbs. I have officially gained all of that weight back almost to the pound. when I had the surgery, I weighed 320 lbs. Saturday, I weighed in at 319 lbs. I was very knowledgeable, at one time, about what it takes to keep the weight off, but that knowledge has left the building. Weight loss surgery is a quick fix and is great for some people, but obviously not for me. I need to re-learn and make healthy living and eating a forever part of my life. I intend to start doing that today! See you next week!
